Exploring moving to self hosting content, by revisiting open web standards and dependency of big social media as the only platforms for publishing content.
<video>
element has been part of HTML standard since 2006. Video support of HTML5 wasn't something that worked well across all browsers years ago. Modern browsers all have this support now, so anyone can easily self publish videos.
There are still caveats though. Mobile is more picky then desktop. The most compatible format is still MP4 with H264 and AAC codec.
